Customer: David’s Neighbour (discontinued project)
Weblogcheckup was Germany’s first weblog update check running from 2002 to 2004. Weblogs were checked via RSS, Spider or Ping and customers were able to create updatelists, blogrolls etc.
Technologies used:
- PHP (several jobs that spidered websites and found out about updates on websites that were entered to be checked or discovered by the bot)
- MySQL (usage of AdoDB database abstraction layer, so basically all other available databases could have been used)
- Ad hoc templating engine written specific for the application
